Elexious moved around quite a bit more than average. In Genealogy of the Musick Family page 11 it says:
Elexious Musick I moved from Spotsylvania County., VA. to North Carolina, but, after some years, moved to Henry County, VA. In 1782, they moved from Henry County, VA. to Russell County, VA., where he obtained his first land grant on June 4, 1782. He then resided in Russell County, VA. until his death in 1798.
and on page 14, they move to Washington County (which becomes Russell).
ELEXIOUS MUSICK I AND SONS LEAVE HENRY COUNTY, VA. AND MOVE TO WASHINGTON COUNTY, VA. IN 1782. The part of Washington Cy., VA. where the Musicks settled became Russell Cy., VA. in 1786. It was formed from Washington Cy., VA.

In Land Entry Book No. 1, page 89, C.R., Lebanon, Russell Cy., VA. Elexious Musick I enters one hundred and fifty-three and three-quarters acres of land, by virtue of land office Treasury Warrant No. 12154, dated June 4, 1782, lying and being in Russell Cy., VA. beginning at an ash tree near the big spring being comer to a tract of land whereon said Musick now lives and running thence to the line of Arch Prater and with line northerly to the top of a hill beyond a large hollow, that makes into the river (Clinch); thence running through the Sinks to the foot of Stoney Mountain and thence to the line of the said land the said Musick now lives on with the line thereof to the beginning. This tract which Elexious I obtained by land office Treasury Warrant No. 12154, was surveyed on Feb. 12, 1782. The following notation appears on the left margin of the Court Record: “Survey 130 acres, 23-% acres assigned to Harry Smith”.
For a time, I (GCM) believed that the preceding tract of land, obtained by Elexious Musick I, was located on the waters of Weaver Creek and Clinch River in Russell Cy., VA. More specifically I (GCM) thought that it was located at the lower end of Hayter Valley, where Weaver Creek separates the valley from the area called the “Sinks”, or the “Sink Hole section”, about one mile from where this creek empties into Clinch River, near the village of Artrip.
However, I (GCM) learned sometime ago that the aforementioned tract of land obtained by Elexious Musick I, on the Upper Fork of Clinch River, by Treasury Warrant No. 12154 on June 4,1782, was located in what is now Tazewell Cy., VA., which was formed in 1800. I (GCM) arrived at this conclusion by learning the extent of Stoney Mountain or Stoney Ridge in Tazewell Cy., VA. Kent Ridge, nearby, which lies partly in Russell Cy. and partly in Tazewell Cy., VA. also helped me to reach this conclusion.
Stoney Ridge (or Mountain) extends from Cedar Bluff, Tazewell Cy., VA. to Tip Top in said county in an Easterly direction. Kent Ridge extends from near Swords Creek in Russell Cy., VA. in an Easterly direction to the area where the present town of Cedar Bluff is located.
Since Stoney Ridge (Mountain) is on the North side of the Upper Fork of Clinch River and Kent Ridge is on the South side of the Clinch River, it seems obvious that the 153-% acre tract which Elexious Musick I obtained on June 4, 1782, was located in the vicinity of Cedar Bluff, VA. Other information to support this view is found in the Court Records of Washington Cy., VA. where Elexious Musick I and his son, Jonathan Musick, obtained three tracts of land on Kent Ridge in 1783. This court record is supplied for information, from which I (GCM) shall make this observation: There is a possibility that Elexious Musick I’s land, consisting of 153-% acres where he lived, and the three tracts he and his son, Jonathan, obtained by grant on Kent Ridge in Apr. 1783, were located at the Westerly end of Kent Ridge, near Swords Creek in Russell Cy., VA. In arriving at the location of the 153-% acre tract Swords Creek, which flows into Clinch River, could have been confused with this river.

In Land Entry Book No. 1, page 25, Court Records of Russell Cy., VA. dated Feb. 29, 1788, David Musick, assignee of Jack Ramey, enters 150 acres of land by virtue of land office Treasury Warrant No. 12154, lying on the North Fork of Clinch River, adjoining land of Harris Wilson on the South side and adjoining the land of John Barnm. The following notation is entered on this Treasury Warrant: “Feb. 29, 1788, void and warrant assigned to Elexious Musick.”
The 150 acres assigned to David Musick by Jack Ramey was located on the North Fork of Clinch River and was assigned by David Musick to his father, Elexious Musick I, and it bears the same number, 12154, as the Treasury Warrant by which Elexious obtained his grant of 153-% acres of land on June 4, 1782. These two tracts of land, that is, the 150 and the 153-% acre tracts, joined and were located in the vicinity of Cedar Bluff, Tazewell Cy., VA.

David Musick, another son of Elexious Musick I, was living in Washington Cy., VA. in 1784, There on Dec. 29, 1784, he, David Musick, is listed in the Minutes of the Court, Minute Book No. 1, page 256, at Abingdon, Washington Cy., VA., as entering into a civil suit against John Noe. Judgment was obtained in the amount of 2 pounds and one shilling, and it was ordered that the sheriff sell the attached effects of the debt, according to law, etc. The sheriff had attached the estate of the debt, and the attachment was in the hands of Jonathan Musick, a constable of the county. Jonathan was the brother of the litigant, David Musick.

FOLLOW-UP: Try to figure out this quote from "Genealogy of the Musick Family and Some Kindred Lines - Egbert S. Musick", page 11, it's not clear where this record is or in what Crozier Volume. The Spotsylvania book does not have 861 pages??
Crozier’s Records, Spotts. Cy., VA., No. 40—861, 1771—1772, show that Electious (Elexious) Musick I obtained 194 acres of land adjoining land belonging to his brother, George Musick Jr. on Aug. 1, 1772.
