Anna Craig, my grandmother, had the misfortune of her mother passed away young - at 35, I'm not sure of what, and William Craig remarried Armedia Smith.
Follow-Up: Had money? Aunt Fay says maybe Anna inherited (he was Judge apparently) to buy the farm??
